Unboxing the Goldshell AE Box
- Goldshell AE Box comes in a thick cardboard box, nicely padded with thick foam pieces on top and bottom to prevent any damage to ASIC during shipping.

- The ASIC comes with a detailed “how to start” user manual that users can refer to when getting started with AE Box.

- Remove the ASIC carefully and place it on a flat surface.

- The Goldshell AE Box comes with a Wi-Fi antenna. You can find the antenna on the right side of the shipment box. You can fix that antenna by screwing it on the back of the ASIC. Unlike many ASICs, AE Box supports Wi-Fi.

Step-by-step Instructions for Setting Up the Goldshell AE Box
1. Preparing the ASIC
- You can use two different power supplies to power your Goldshell AE Box. The first one is the regular ATX power supply. Since Goldshell AE Box consumes around 360W, you can get a 550W or 600W power supply. The below image shows the ATX power supply.

- The ATX power supply comes with a PCIe cable, as shown below.

- You will need 2 PCIe cables (6 pins) to plug into the AE Box.

- Though the ATX power supply is popular, you will need a paper-cut method to turn the power supply on when it is ON.

- However, the most popular way to power the Goldshell AE Box is the HP server or the server power supply. Additionally, you will need a breakup board and PCIe cables. Ensure you get thick gauge cables for safety purposes like to withstand any possible power surges.

- Though Goldshell AE Box has Wi-Fi support, you will first need to connect the ethernet cable to connect the ASIC to the computer. Thus, you can log in to the Web GUI of AE Box and then configure the Wi-Fi.

- Next, plug in the PCIe cables.

- Now, turn on the power button on the breakup board.

- As you turn the power ON, you can see the lights blinking on the ASIC.

2. Configuring the ASIC
- Now, let’s find the IP address of the Goldshell AE Box. You can get the IP address using either of the following steps.
~ You can use the free program software called Advanced IP Scanner to get your miner’s IP address.
~ Alternatively, you can log in to your router and get the IP address.
~ Here, let’s take the advanced IP scanner for illustration. The software automatically scans your IP address. You can copy that address.

3. Accessing the Goldshell AE Box via the Web Browser
- Paste the copied address into the web browser.

- Now, you can access the Web GUI of the Goldshell AE Box.

4. Getting the Crypto Wallet
- Click on the “Miner” on the settings page.

- Now, you need to add the pool settings to get started with mining. To do so, you will need a dedicated crypto wallet first.
- It is highly recommended that you use the Leo Wallet. You can download the app from here. It will get installed on your browser.

- Click on the “receive” icon to get the receiving address. That will take you to this page in the image below.

- Copy that receiving address.

- Now, go back to the Web GUI of the miner. Click on the “unlock button.”

- The username is “admin” and the password is “123456789.” After entering, click the “unlock” button.

- Upon unlocking, you will reach this page. Click on the “add” button at the top to add the mining pool.

- It will ask for the pool configuration details.

- Now paste the Leo wallet address you copied. Then add a period and enter a worker name of your choice. Let’s say the worker’s name here is “aebox.” The password can either be “123” or “X.”
5. Adding the Mining Pool

- Next, you will need the mining pool address. If you’re unsure about the mining pool, you can search here. You can choose any of the mining pools listed out there.

- Let’s take dxpool for illustration here. Go to dxpool.com. Scroll down to the ALEO tutorial. Click on the “tutorial” button.
- Again scroll down. You will find the pool address.

- Copy that pool address and paste it into the pool configuration settings on your Web GUI. Click “apply.”

- In case, if you want to use Wi-Fi and not ethernet, you can set that up on the “System” page.

6. Start Mining
- You may need to restart the miner.

- You should remove the old address on the pool settings page. Then the new one will take over.

- Now, if you want to verify whether the ASIC is mining appropriately, you can directly go to dxpool.
- Click on the search button at the top.

- Copy the receiving address and paste it into the box.

- You can see the mining status of your ASIC right away.

- The power consumption of the Goldshell AE Box is around 340W. However, it might vary for you depending on your mining atmosphere.
