Power means different things
"Most powerful" can mean highest hashrate, best efficiency or lowest cost per terahash. They point to different machines, so this ranking shows all three side by side. Every spec and price below is read from our live catalog.

What the numbers mean in practice
Efficiency decides the running cost
Efficiency in J/TH is watts per TH/s, so a machine at 9.45 J/TH uses about half the electricity per terahash of one at 18 J/TH. Over a year of continuous running that difference is larger than most purchase discounts. Our break-even guide shows how to turn it into a daily power cost for your rate.
Very high power draw is an infrastructure project
Several of these machines draw between 8 and 17 kW each. That is not a plug-in device. You need suitable three-phase service, breakers and cabling sized with headroom, and a plan for removing that much heat. Hydro and immersion variants move heat into liquid loops and dry coolers instead of the room, which is why many of the most efficient models are liquid-cooled. If you are planning at scale, read the hydro versus immersion container comparison and the container sizing guide.
Air-cooled versus liquid-cooled
Air-cooled miners like the Whatsminer M79S are simpler to install but need airflow, noise management and dust control. Hydro models such as the Antminer S23e Hydro run quieter in the hall and hold clocks more steadily, but they require a coolant loop, water quality management and a competent installer.
How we would choose
What each machine demands from your site
The table converts each catalog wattage into three planning numbers: current per phase on a 400 V three-phase supply (watts divided by 1.732 times 400, ignoring power factor), heat output in BTU per hour (watts times 3.412), and yearly electricity at $0.07 per kWh running continuously. These are engineering estimates from catalog wattage, not measured figures; an electrician must size the real installation.
| Miner | Power | Amps per phase at 400 V (3-phase) | Heat output | Yearly power at $0.07/kWh |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Antminer U3S23H | 14000 W | 20.2 A | 47,768 BTU/h | $8585 |
| Whatsminer M79S | 16740 W | 24.2 A | 57,117 BTU/h | $10265 |
| Bitdeer SealMiner A4 Ultra Hydro | 8372 W | 12.1 A | 28,565 BTU/h | $5134 |
| MicroBT Whatsminer M7DS | 9200 W | 13.3 A | 31,390 BTU/h | $5641 |
| Bitdeer SealMiner A4 Pro Hydro | 7412 W | 10.7 A | 25,290 BTU/h | $4545 |
| Antminer S23e Hydro | 5400 W | 7.8 A | 18,425 BTU/h | $3311 |
| Antminer S23 Hydro | 5460 W | 7.9 A | 18,630 BTU/h | $3348 |
| Antminer S21 Hyd | 5360 W | 7.7 A | 18,288 BTU/h | $3287 |
Two things stand out. First, a single Antminer U3S23H draws roughly as much as several household ovens, so a row of them quickly outgrows a normal building supply. Second, the yearly power bill for one high-end unit is a sizeable share of its purchase price, which is why efficiency is the number to watch.
Buying and delivery reality
Frequently misunderstood points
Hashrate is not revenue. Revenue depends on the network's payout per terahash, which changes daily. A machine with double the hashrate earns double per day at the same hashprice, but also draws far more power, so its margin only improves if its efficiency is better.
Bigger is not always more economical per site. If your supply is limited to a fixed number of kilowatts, the best machine is the one that gives the most terahash per watt, not the highest hashrate per unit.
Bottom line
The biggest hashrate is a headline. For a real decision, rank by efficiency at your power price, check the electrical and cooling scope, and confirm availability and shipping before you commit. Specs and prices on this page reflect our catalog at the time of writing and can change.
